More than Just selling Homes

Most people see our profession as someone that sells homes. I would not disagree with that. That is, inherently, what we do. But if you know me, you know that in the last few years, we’ve been pushing to do more, both on a personal level, and also for the Brokerage and company, Zahler Properties. I have taken a more hands on approach at our Local Association of Realtors, holding Chair Positions on Committees, and have just been appointed as a Director for our MLS, the database and heart center of over 15,000 agents in the Las Vegas Area.

So that is what brought me to San Francisco yesterday (11/6) and why i’m going to be here for the next 4 days. I am here, as part of the representation group of the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors (GLVAR) attending the National Association of Realtors (NAR) conference. I am no stranger to conferences, usually going to 3-4 different events per year, but this is my first NAR conference. We go to an event in August every year that has about 5,000 attendees; this one is 3x the size!

But what am I really doing here? Networking of course, but more than that, I’m gaining knowledge and learning tools to help protect YOU, our neighbors, friends and clients. Private property rights are the lifeblood of our investments. Most of us hold real estate as the largest portion of our ‘nest eggs’. With laws constantly changing, technology becoming more significant (and invasive), the knowledge we gain as leaders is going to help set the vision for our work over the next few years.

The next 3 days will be filled with meetings that will help us help you on the local, state and national levels. I will enjoy myself, of course, but this is a business trip, not one for leisure. Meetings will occupy most of my time, but this is what we do. I have made the commitment to be the best Realtor and Broker that I can be, and that means constant education to help you, our dear friends, neighbors and clients. I’ll update more as the days progress! But today, I have two or three Young Professionals Network meetings with other leaders from around the country!

Stay Tuned for more!!!!
