Sugar Cookie Recipe
I’ve been baking all of my life, and I find it so satisfying when I find recipes that become a part of my repertoire. One of these staple recipes that I use throughout the year is this yummy Sugar Cookie Recipe from Rachel Parcell. I personally like my sugar cookies to be a bit thicker, and in turn able to hold all kinds of frosting and decorations! These stand the test of time with little ones as well. Valentines Day, Halloween, Christmas, ANY time of year…this recipe is one I’m sure you’ll love as much as I do. I’d love to see how yours turn out!
Sugar Cookie Recipe
2 cups butter
6 eggs
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoon vanilla
2 teaspoon almond extract
6 teaspoon baking powder
7 cups flour
Mix wet ingredients with sugar then slowly add baking powder and flour. Mix well. Refrigerate dough for 30 minutes. Sprinkle surface with plenty of flour. Roll dough to about 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch thick. Use your favorite cookie cutters. Bake for 7 minutes at 375. (In my oven I only cook them for 6 minutes. I like them to be extra soft!!).
