3 Things you Didn't Know About Summerlin

Summerlin is luxurious with it’s reputable attractions and stunning lifestyle, but how much do you actually know about the master-planned community?

1. The dirt and gravel that is now nationally well known, started it’s journey in 1952 when Howard Hughes purchased the land.

Unsure if he wanted to relocate his company, Hughes went back and forth on crossing state-line to continue his business ventures. Ultimately, the land sat untouched for more than 30 years!

2. When announcing his plans for development, Hughes agreed upon the name Summerlin, after his grandmother, for the community.

3. This has to be my favorite moment in history for Summerlin. In 1991, “Cal and Maria Champlin, along with their children, make history as the first residents of Summerlin, moving to The Hills village”. How awesome is that to be named the first residence in a beautiful community!
